ACORN Scholarship

Awarded to a first generation college student with financial need. Consideration is given first to a female student. Student must be degree seeking, enrolled in at least 9 credit hours and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, the FAFSA and the admissions application are required.

Adam and LaVon Hamilton Scholarship

Awarded to a single parent with legal custody and financial responsibility for at least one minor child. Enrollment in at least 3 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Advent Health Shawnee Mission - Neurodiagnostic Technology

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Neurodiagnostic Technology, who show financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Advent Health Shawnee Mission - Nurses Aid (CNA)

Awarded to student(s) who are currently enrolled in AVHO 102 (CNA class). Enrollment in at least 5 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Advent Health Shawnee Mission - Nursing

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Nursing, who show financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment of at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. Advent Health Shawnee Mission - Practical Nursing

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Practical Nursing, show financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. Advent Health Shawnee Mission - Respiratory Care

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Respiratory Care, who show financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student aid) are required.

Ailene and Jake Jacobson Scholarship

Awarded to students seeking a degree in Political Science, History, or International Studies. Consideration is given first to Johnson County residents. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a 2.5 GPA or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the FAFSA and the admissions application are required.

Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new, and/or continuing JCCC students who are a Kansas resident, degree-seeking, enrolled in at least 9 credit hours, and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

American Association of University Women, Phyllis Hansen Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student focusing in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), criminal justice, economics, business law or medicine. Consideration is given first to a non-traditional female student. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours at JCCC and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

American Hotel & Lodging Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in at least 12 credit hours in the Hotel & Lodging Management program wtih a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC admissions application, and the JCCC scholarship application are required.

Anita Tebbe Paralegal Student Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has been accepted into the JCCC Paralegal Program through the Selective Admissions process, with a 3.5 GPA or higher for all completed paralegal courses. Completion of 12 or more credit hours of paralegal classes by the time the the scholarship is awarded is also required. The JCCC Scholarship Application, and the JCCC Admissions Application are required.

Ann Marie Cerra Watson Scholarship

Awarded to a second-year Dental Hygiene student with two semesters completed in the program required for consideration along with enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Daily evaluations and review of work will be used to demonstrate professionalism and movement towards successful completion of the program. Dental Hygiene faculty determines the recipient.

Ash Grove Cement Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Asher & Audrey Langworthy Family Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Assurant Employee Benefits Scholarship for Students with Disabilities

Awarded to a JCCC student that is working with JCCC Access Services. Student must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the JCCC admission application are required. Access Services staff will recommend the recipient based on a list of students provided to them who match the requirements.

AT&T Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a JCCC GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Automotive Technology Scholarship

Scholarship designed to assist JCCC Automotive Technology Students. Minimum 2.0+ GPA, enrolled in a minimum of 6+ hours and residency in KC Metro and residents of Kansas or Missouri. Must be enrolled in JCCC Automotive Technology certificate or AA degree program. JCCC scholarship application is required.

Avery Hotchkiss Educational Memorial Endowment Scholarship

Awarded to Students of GEHS Fire Science program taken through College Now Credits. Continuing on through Fire Administration at JCCC. Fire courses include: Fire Academy course, EMR-EMT Changing, EMT, Fire Administration Cert., and AAS. Students must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, be a resident of Johnson County and a graduate from Gardner Edgerton High School who have taken the JCCC Fire Science College Now credits. The current academic year JCCC Scholarship Application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be completed to be considered.

Bank Midwest Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Bank of America Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Bank of Blue Valley Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Barton P. Cohen Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Bayer Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Beate Pettigrew Scholarship

Scholarship will be selected on both need and merit basis. Recipient must be degree-seeking and enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at JCCC, have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher with no residency restrictions. The FAFSA, JCCC Scholarship Application and Admissions Application are required. Preference will be given to a single parent with dependent children.

Ben & Evadean Craig Scholarship

Awarded to a single parent with legal custody and/or financial responsibility for at least one minor child (under age 18). Student must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and show financial need through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The JCCC Scholarship Application, FAFSA, and JCCC Admissions application are required.

Bergman Family Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Preference is given first to students in the Creative Arts program. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Bessie Lee Neal Memorial Scholarship

Consideration will be given first to females or single mothers who are pursuing an economics or general business related degree. Recipient should be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and have a 2.0 GPA or higher. The JCCC Scholarship application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are also required. Students who meet the established criteria as determined by completion of the scholarship application will be provided a secondary application, including an essay, to assist with final selections by a Scholarship Review Committee.

Betty and Robert Slegman Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Betty Bruce Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a graduate of Gardner-Edgerton, DeSoto, or Spring Hill High Schools with a 2.0 GPA or higher. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship application, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)and JCCC admission application are required.

Betty Bullock Scholarship

Awarded to students pursuing a degree in Sociology with enrollment of at least 12 credit hours and a 3.0 GPA or higher required. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admissions application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Beverly R and Harvey S. Bodker Scholarship for Students of the Performing Arts

Theatre scholarships are based on talent auditions or portfolio review and the student's willingness to contribute to theatrical productions. Student must be enrolled in a 9 or more credit hours, enroll in at least one theatre course, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Bill & June Bailey Interior Design Scholarship

Awarded through a selection committee process to a declared Interior Merchandising student, who is enrolled in or has completed 15 ITMD/DRAF hours. Student must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher. This is a juried scholarship based on talent, design ability, motivation, and academic performance. Applicants are required to submit a design project in compliance with design criteria. The students must write a brief statement as to why they should be selected to receive the scholarship award. The Bill Bailey scholarship application, two letters of recommendation and verification of grade point average by transcript or certified enrollment are required for consideration, in addition to the JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application.

Billington Family Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors or new and continuing JCCC students whose intentions are to transfer to a four-year institution of higher learning in pursuit of a bachelor's degree or higher. A Johnson County resident, enrolled in at least 12 credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship and admissions applications are required.

BizFest Scholarship

The student must participate in BizFest, a career fair presented by the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in February and present their business plan on the last day of the event. To be eligible, you must have attended BizFest during your Senior year in high school and plan to enter JCCC the upcoming Fall semester.

To apply, complete the JCCC Scholarship Application and indicate your participation in the event to match up with this scholarship. After the event, during the application window, the supplemental BizFest application will appear in your scholarship portal. Complete the application and provide all documentation by the stated deadline. A scholarship selection committee reviews the applications and determines the recipients.

This is a one-year scholarship that includes tuition and book funds as advertised to participants.
Recipients must submit official 7th semester high school transcript, showing a 2.5 or higher grade point average, maintain that minimum GPA and be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours each semester.

BKD Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Black & Veatch Engineers and Architects Scholarship

Awarded to high school students, new or previously enrolled college students pursuing degrees in the JCCC Engineering or Industrial Technology Programs. Successful completion of 9 college credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions applications are required.

Black & Veatch Scholars Program Scholarship

Awarded to US citizens or permanent residents enrolled in Computer Aided Drafting and Design Technology AAS beginning a two year program and to second year students in Electrical Technology AAS. Students are encouraged to enroll in/complete DRAF 130/DRAF 230 within their respective program of study. Enrollment of 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.75 each semester are also required. Requirements must be met in Fall to receive Spring portion.

If awarded the scholarship, be actively engaged in events hosted by Black & Veatch:

Meet 1:1 with assigned Black & Veatch Mentor (minimum 2 in-person or virtual meetings per semester)
Attend all official Black & Veatch events hosted by Black & Veatch
Participate in at least one job shadowing session with a Black & Veatch professional
Apply to and be willing to participate in exclusive paid summer internships with Black & Veatch (apply September of 1st year to intern summer before 2nd year)
Apply to a full-time position with Black and Veatch in September in final year of degree program for potential employment after graduation.

Blakely Russell Kay Scholarship

Awarded to students who have completed at least one semester in the American Sign Language Studies Certificate program at JCCC. Involvement in community and/or leadership must be demonstrated. Enrollment in six or more credit hours and 3.5 GPA or higher are required. Preference will be given to second-year students in the program. The JCCC admissions application, JCCC scholarship application, and the FAFSA are required.

BMO Harris Bank Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

BNSF Railway Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

BNSF Training Scholarship

Awarded to a students currently enrolled in a BNSF Railroad Conductor Training program who will receive federal funding by completing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and/or will receive funding through the GI Bill or WIA benefits. Once the benefits have been awarded, this scholarship can also assist with their school costs. An online Thank You letter process is required before any funds are available to students.

Bodker Criminal Justice Scholarship Honoring John M. Douglass

Awarded to a Johnson County resident enrolled in the Criminal Justice program. Enrollment in at least 12 hours at JCCC and a 2.5 GPA or higher is also required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Brady Criminal Justice Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the Criminal Justice program and seeking a career in law enforcement. Student should be enrolled in at least 6 hours and a GPA of at least 2.5. No Residency restriction. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

Bud Brown Volkswagon Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the Automotive Technology program. Enrollment in at least 6 hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Burns and McDonnell Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Business Math Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has completed Math 120 (Business Math) within the last three years or is currently enrolled in that course, has a GPA of 2.5 or higher and a Business Math grade of B or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Business Office Technology Emergency Book Fund

Awarded to students who are Business Office Technology students with financial need. Enrollment of 6+ hours and a GPA of 2.0+ are required. The JCCC Scholarship Application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

C.L. Akin Mathematics Scholarship

Awarded to students who plan to major in mathematics or math education and are enrolled in at least one math class. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Campus Connections Scholarship

Awarded to students who are changing careers, returning to work or updating work skills. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Students must be over the age of 25 and degree seeking in the following degree or certificate programs:

Degree programs in Accounting, Business Administration, Administrative Assistant, Administrative Assistant with Legal Emphasis or Administrative Assistant with Medical Emphasis.
Certificate programs in Bookkeeping Entrepreneurship, Tax Preparation, Supervision Management, Administrative Support Specialist, Business Administrative Assistant, Medical Administrative Assistant or Medical Transcription.

Capitol Federal Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to students whose educational goal is an associate degree in Business Administration, Computer Information Systems or Technology through one of the following academic areas:

Accounting, Banking, Finance, Business Entrepreneurship, Business Office Technology, Computer Information Systems, Computer Information Technology, Economics, Marketing or Management

Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Students will reside in the Greater Kansas City Metro Area, Emporia, Lawrence, Salina or Wichita. The JCCC scholarship application, the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Carl Perilla JCCC Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to the nursing program and are enrolled in the ADN program. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Carol Green Nigro Nursing Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to the nursing program and are enrolled in the ADN Program. Student must have a 3.0 GPA or higher and be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at JCCC. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admissions application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) required.

Carol H. Logan & Fred J. Logan, Jr. Scholarship

Awarded to students that meet the following criteria:
(1) first generation students who are the first in their families to seek a postsecondary education, or (2) students who are the children of undocumented persons, who were brought to the United States when they were young, and who are pursuing the American Dream of higher education, or (3) beleaguered students, meaning those students who face extraordinary challenges that threaten their ability to pursue higher education.

Carolyn Kadel Studies Abroad Scholarship

Awarded to students who are officially accepted to study for credit in one of the JCCC Study Abroad programs. Scholarship is awarded only for the semester in which the student is studying abroad. The Scholarship is not provided for any on-campus study. Students must submit a written application which can be found in the International Education/Study Abroad office. A minimum grade point average of 2.5 is required. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Carolyn Neptune Scholarship

Awarded to students who are taking or have taken College Alegbra (Math 171), enrolled in 12 or more credit hours with a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Carrico Family Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Cathy Barber Culinary Arts Scholarship

Student must be degree or certificate seeking and currently enrolled full time (12 hours) in the Food and Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management or Chef Apprentice program. Student must show financial need and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application the JCCC admission application and the FAFSA are required.

Cavalier Guarantee Scholarship

High School students that graduate with a minimum GPA of 3.25 and have a JCCC admissions application, submitted an OFFICIAL 7th semester high school transcript (December grades), picked a degree major, and completed the JCCC scholarship application before April 1 for the fall semester are guaranteed at least $1,000 in JCCC scholarships. Enrollment at JCCC must begin the fall semester immediately following high school graduation (direct matriculates) and students must be enrolled in at least 12 credit hours at JCCC. The scholarship will pay $500 in the fall semester and $500 for the spring semester. Students must make satisfactory academic progress (SAP) during the fall semester to receive the spring portion of the award. (SAP means 2.0 GPA with 67% completion). Students must be degree seeking to receive the funds. Students must be Johnson County residents. Home schooled students residing in Johnson County are also eligible. This scholarship is intended to provide a minimum amount of scholarships students can receive at JCCC. It is not stackable with other JCCC Scholarships, therefore the most beneficial scholarship will be offered.

Cavalier Meal Share Program

At JCCC, we want you to succeed and we understand that hunger can be distracting. A good healthy meal can help you focus, and maybe even relax knowing you don’t have to worry about your next meal. Through JCCC’s Cavalier MealSHARE program, you can apply for meal assistance through JCCC.

The application window varies, but generally opens late summer before the Fall semester.

How you use it at any on-campus food venue is up to you – breakfast, lunch or snacks throughout your day. Not sure how best to choose wisely? It’s easy. MealSHARE dollars are loaded to your JCCC student ID card and can be used Monday through Friday at any on-campus food venue-the Food Court, any of the JCCC coffee bars and on-campus vending machines.

CEC Jess Barbosa Culinary Scholarship

3rd Year ACF Culinary Chef Apprentice Student. This will be modified to a 2nd Year ACF Culinary Chef Apprenticeship Student when the program officially becomes a 2 year program. Minimum GPA 3.5+, minimum number of hours enrolled 6+, resident of KC Metro, recipient will be selected on the basis of merit.

Center for Future Educators Scholarship

Awarded to students who are fully admitted to JCCC and degree seeking (need to change your major)? Students must enroll in 12 or more credit hours, have a GPA on file (7th semester high school transcript - December grades - if incoming freshman or JCCC GPA) and maintain a 2.5 GPA. In addition, must be currently enrolled in EDUC 121 or have completed EDUC 220, 221, or PSYC 225 (Educational Psychology), and commit to working as needed per week in the Center for Future Educators. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required. The FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is encouraged. If you meet the above criteria, you will be asked to complete an additional application. You'll submit a 1-2 page Educational Philosophy essay, provide Two Letters of Recommendation (one academic/one professional or volunteer) and answer specific questions within the application. All parts of this application process must be completed and submitted to be fully considered.

Central Bank of the Midwest Ben Craig Legacy Scholarship

Awarded to a first time JCCC student who has participated in one or a combination of College Now or Quick Step classes during high school and be a high school graduate or its equivalency. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. This is a non-renewable one-year scholarship opportunity. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship application is required.

Charles J. & Linda S. Carlsen Scholarship

Awarded to students who demonstrate community involvement/volunteerism and/or extra-curricular college service. A Kansas resident with enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Charles P. Zarrelli Memorial Scholarship

Chef Karen Putman Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students in the Chef's Apprenticeship Program. Enrollment of at least 1 credit hour and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Child Care Access Fund Scholarship CCAMPIS

This scholarship is only available to students who have children enrolled at the Hiersteiner Child Development Center between the ages of 12 months and walking and 6 years of age. The HCDC reviews eligibility and selects candidates who are able to qualify.
Child(ren) must be enrolled for a 5 day/full day care for each semester they receive this grant. Parent attendance is required in tutoring, counseling and/or resource center sessions to retain the scholarship. Enrollment in 9 or more credit hours each semester, a GPA of 2.0 or higher, and student must be meeting/maintaining JCCC's Financial Aid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) criteria.

Chris Imm STEM Scholarship

Awarded to JCCC students who are enrolled in a STEM program with preference to Math and a second preference to military service. A 3.0+ GPA and enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours is required. Clay Blair Family Foundation Scholarship

JCCC Faculty nominates students that are determined to learn, engaged with school, and have a desire to better themselves and their career. Students must attend class regularly, contribute to the learning experience, have enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.75 or higher. The Clay Blair Family Scholarship nomination form is returned to the JCCC Foundation by the nominator, reviewed by a committee and recipients are chosen and notified through their JCCC student email to complete the JCCC scholarship application and the online thank you letter process before the funds will be made available to them.

Clem H. Nanson Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to degree or certificate seeking students enrolled in either Food and Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management or Chef Apprenticeship programs. Enrollment of at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

College Success Scholarship

Awarded to students that receive a "C" in Math 116 or English 106 and will move on to College Algebra and Comp I. Student is encouraged to take a Success Strategies Class and this class will be paid for. This 1 hour strategies class will assist the student to be successful in College Algebra or Comp 1. The cost for this class will be covered at $94 (or the current in county tuition rate). Letters are sent to students regarding this opportunity. Math is COLL 174 and English is COLL 176. The student would be concurrently enrolled in the corresponding Math or English class in the same semester. The JCCC scholarship application is required.

Craig A. Hetler Memorial Scholarship

Preference is given to a student enrolled in JCCC Graphic Design courses, but can be awarded to any student with financial need as determined by JCCC's Financial Aid Department and completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Culinary Team Scholarship

Recipient must be a current member of the Culinary Team in good academic standing. The Culinary Team sponsor provides the names of the awardees. Students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better.

Dan Nickles Memorial Scholarship

Dennis and Stephene Moore Scholarship

Awarded to JCCC students who are residents of the KC Metro area. Student needs to be enrolled in 6+ credit hours with a minimum 2.0+ GPA. Students who meet this criteria will be given the opportunity to complete an additional application. This application will include an essay, which requests examples of how the applicant has demonstrated leadership and community services in their life and to state their educational and professional goals.

Dental Hygiene Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to a first-year dental hygiene student at JCCC. At the end of the fall semester, a recipient will be chosen and receive the first award in spring. If student remains eligible and in good standing, an additional award will be made in the fall of the second year. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Daily evaluations and review of work will be used to demonstrate professionalism and movement towards successful completion of the program. In addition, student is an active member of SADHA. Dental Hygiene Program Scholarship

Awarded to a second year student in the JCCC Dental Hygiene program. All first-year dental hygiene students will be provided with a scholarship application to apply during the second semester of the program. Completion of two semesters in the Dental Hygiene program, enrollment in 10 or more credit hours, and a GPA average of 2.75 or higher is required. Diamond Connections Baseball Scholarship

Awarded to a member of the JCCC Baseball team that graduated from a high school in the KC Metro area. Cumulative GPA must be 3.5 or higher.

Don and Glenetta Schierding Scholarship

This scholarship supports JCCC students who were in the Foster Care System; preference given to those students who aged out of the Foster Care System at age 18. Minimum GPA of 2.5 and 12 or more hours of enrollment required. Student must be a resident of Kansas or KC Metro area. Scholarship is for JCCC tuition and books. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FASFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student applies by the April 1 priority deadline, continues to meet the above requirements, and stays continuously enrolled at JCCC.

Dunham Musical Scholarship

Eckart Breyfogle Memorial Paralegal Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has been accepted into the JCCC Paralegal Program through the Selective Admissions Process with a 3.5 GPA or above for all completed paralegal courses. Completion of 12 or more credit hours of paralegal classes when scholarship is awarded is required. Ellis Foundation Scholarship

The student applies through the Ellis Foundation for the initial scholarship. JCCC will match the Ellis Foundation funding. Emerging Scholar Grant

To be considered for this award, the student has completed a reading course (either RDG 126 or RDG 127) and a mathematics course with a C or higher. The mathematics course can be any MATH course, OR even a one-credit-hour, self-paced math course in the Academic Achievement Center (AAC 112 Basic Math Review or AAC 113 Algebra Preparation). The student also must be in good standing at JCCC, with enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The student must have an educational goal (declared major, certificate program, or transfer goal to a four-year institution). Epley Family Scholarship

Scholarships should be awarded to students pursuing a degree or certificate in a JCCC Industrial Technology Program. Preference will be given to student studying HVAC Technology, but may be awarded to any student in an Industrial Technology Program if needed. Minimum GPA 2.0+, minimum number of hours enrolled 6+, no residency restriction. Applicants must complete both the JCCC application and the Federal application for Financial Student Aid (FASFA).

First Year President's Scholarship

Johnson County high school students, home schooled students, and GED graduates who are Johnson County residents with a high school grade point average (GPA) of 3.5 or higher will be considered for the JCCC President's Scholarship. One student from each Johnson County High School, Homeschooled and GED students will be chosen. A 7th semester transcript is required to verify GPA (evaluated on a 4.0 scale) AND student must be fully admitted with a degree major on file at JCCC by April 1 to be eligible. If awarded, enrollment in 12 or more credit hours at JCCC for each semester attending is required. To be considered for spring semester continuation, students must maintain a 3.0 GPA and again have full-time enrollment. Enrollment at JCCC must begin the fall semester after high school graduation or GED is received. The scholarship will be renewable for a 2nd year with continued full time enrollment and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. The scholarship pays for only 12 hours each semester plus a book scholarship currently at $300 per semester. Students must complete and submit the JCCC Scholarship Application with a GPA and degree major on file Before April 1 to be considered.

Frank & Nancy Kirk Scholarship

Students will have MFAB or RRIT as their declared major and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application and the FAFSA are required.

Frank Smith Jazz Scholarship

Awarded to a student who is a declared music major with a strong interest in jazz and who plans to transfer to a four-year school. Student must have completed two consecutive semesters at JCCC as a full-time student and be a performing member of at least two jazz ensembles. Student will have completed Music Theory I and II and Ear Training/Sight Singing I and II with a minimum grade of B, as well as demonstrate leadership qualities as determined by the faculty and have completed a two-year academic plan that includes Jazz Improvisation I and II. A GPA of 3.2 or higher is also required. Selection is based on audition and enrollment in a selected program of study as established with a faculty adviser. The JCCC scholarship and admissions applications are required.

Fred J. and Marjorie H. Logan Scholarship

Awarded to students who are officially accepted to the study for credit in one of the JCCC Study Abroad programs. Student must submit the written application found in the International Education/Study Abroad office to be considered. Scholarship is awarded only for the semester in which the student is studying abroad and is not awarded for any on-campus study. Student must have completed 12 hours of credit courses at JCCC and achieved a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. Recipient must be willing to meet with the donor upon his/her return from the country of study. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need. Fred Krebs History Scholarship

Awarded to students who are degree seeking and enrolled in at least one history class each semester at JCCC. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a 3.0 GPA or higher is also required.
Students meeting the criteria above will be notified to complete an additional application after September 1. In the supplemental application, students will provide a brief (one-page essay) statement explaining their interest in History as well as contact information of at least one professor from whom they have taken a College History class. The application deadline will be September 15 for the current academic year. A selection committee will review the applications in mid- to late-September and present awards. Scholarship awards will normally be divided between fall and spring semesters, and awarded by semester. Students will receive the spring portion of the award, if they continue to meet the scholarship criteria listed above. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required.

Gap Scholarship

Awarded to a student with a declared Fashion Merchandising/Design major and involved with departmental/program activities. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours each semester and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC admissions application and the JCCC scholarship application are required.

Awarded to students enrolled in the Graphic Design program. The applicant must either be a Japanese student studying at JCCC or an American student enrolled in JCCC courses with significant Japanese content. Students studying abroad in Japan on a JCCC-related program are also eligible. Minimum GPA of 3.0 is required and recipient must be a full-time student (12 hours or more). Students will be sent the Heart of America Japan-American Society Scholarship application to complete and return to the International Education/Study Abroad office, along with a 1 page narrative of educational and professional goals and a description of your personal qualities and cultural experiences and one letter of reference from an academic, professional, or volunteer contact. Recipients must assist with the annual Japan Festival in the fall semester and attend the annual meeting of the Japan-American Society. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are also required.

Heart of America Patriot Foundation Endowment for Veterans

Awarded to Veteran and Military affiliated JCCC students to assist with overcoming food insecurities and hardships. The JCCC Scholarship Application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required

Heart of America Patriot Foundation Gold Star Family Veteran Scholarship

Member of a Gold Star family who is or plans to attend JCCC. Preference is given to students with need as determing by a completed FASFA. A 2.0 or higher GPA and enrollment in 6 or more hours is required. These funds will assist with tuition, books, and program needs. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the FAFSA are required.

Heart of America Patriot Fund-Johnny Mac Soldiers Fund

Awarded by the Heart of America Patriot Fund to assist students who are eligible for the Veterans Administration's Chapter 35 Dependents' Educational Assistance (DEA) Program with financial need. Each scholarship will be a minimum of $1,000 per year per recipient. Enrollment of 6 hours and a GPA of 2.0 are required. The JCCC Scholarship Application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Required supplemental application will become visible in the JCCC Scholarship Portal for those meeting the initial criteria.

Scholarship is renewable based on continuing eligibility and new application submission including JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA.

Hector Boiardi Scholarship

Student must be degree or certificate seeking and enrolled in the Food and Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management or the Chef Apprentice program. Student must show financial need, have a minimum cumulutive GPA of 2.0 or better and be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at JCCC. The JCCC scholarship application, the admissions application and the FAFSA are required.

Herbert C. and Joyce C. Dunford Memorial Scholarship

Consideration is given to students currently enrolled in any mathmatics course or in any class in the department of English or Journalism, which can include EAP and Learning Strategies courses. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is also required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Hermes Landscaping Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in at least 6 hours in the Horticulture program at JCCC. Students will be Kansas or Missouri residents and maintain a GPA of 2.75 or higher. Preference is given to those who have worked in the Landscape/Horticulture sector of the industry for 5 or more years or previous recipients in good standing at JCCC. The JCCC Admissions Application, the JCCC Scholarship Application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Hidden Glen Arts Graphic Design Scholarship

Awarded to a second year student seeking an AAS from Johnson County Community College in Graphic Design Student must demonstrate talent through a portfolio review, be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JCCC and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Student must be a Kansas resident. The JCCC general scholarship application and the admission application are required.

Hidden Glenn Arts Animation Scholarship

Awarded to a second year student seeking an AAS in Animation from Johnson County Community College. Student must be a Kansas resident, enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JCCC and have a minimum GPA of 2.0. Department award given for demonstrated talent through a portfolio review. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the Admissions application are required.

Hispanic Scholarship

Students who apply for a scholarship at the Greater Kansas City Community Foundation (Hispanic Development Fund). If awarded, the GKCCF sends funding to JCCC for those students. JCCC will match up to $250 per semester. Students will receive an email to complete the online thank you process for the JCCC matching portion of the funds. Full time enrollment and a GPA of 2.5 for new scholars and 3.0 for renewal scholars is required to receiving the matching portion each semester the GKCCF makes funds available to their students. The JCCC Scholarship Application and admissions application are required.

Holiday Inn Lenexa and Linquist Craig Hotels and Resorts Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Honeywell Scholarship

Consideration when awarding is first given to students enrolled in the Electronics Technology program who are recent high school graduates or previously enrolled college students. Completion of 14 college credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC Scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Honoring Korean War Veterans Helping Student Veterans

This scholarship will assist Veteran and Military affiliated JCCC student with educational expenses. It honors Korean War Veterans for granting South Korea freedom in 1953. Enrollment in at least 6 hours with a 2.5 GPA is required. The JCCC Scholarship Application and Admissions Application are required along with completion of the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).

Honors Program Scholarship

Qualified Students must be active members of the Honors Program, making progress toward their honors and degree requirements, and in the process of or have completed at least 12 credit hours at JCCC. To be considered, students must complete the JCCC Scholarship Application and will be notified via email to complete the supplementary Honors Scholarship Application on the JCCC scholarship webiste (www.jccc.edu/scholarships). The Honors Scholarship Application encompasses a short essay, a degree completion plan and two letters of recommendation from a faculty members. Recipients of the scholarship must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher, enroll in an at least 9 hours and at least one Honors course.

Horticulture Scholarship

Consideration is given to Horticultural Science degree seeking students who have successfully completed at least two courses with a "C" or above in Horticultural Sciences and who are in good academic standing in the Horticulture program at JCCC, with a 2.0 GPA or above. Funds are awarded each semester based on students' continued eligiblity and funds available. Award amounts can vary based on funds available, number of applicants, and need. The JCCC admissions application and the JCCC scholarship application are required.

Hospitality Management Scholarship

Student must be degree or certificate seeking and enrolled in a minimum of 6 hours of Food and Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management or Chef Apprentice courses. Student must show financial need and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.2 or better. The JCCC general scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

Hotel & Lodging Association of Greater Kansas City Scholarship

Student must be degree or certificate seeking and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours of either Food and Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management, or Chef Apprenticeship courses. The student must maintain a 2.2 or higher GPA and show financial need. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

HPC Professional Development Scholarship

Applicant must be enrolled in or have completed 15 ITMD/DRAF hours w/JCCC gpa of 3.0 or above. The awards are based on demonstrated motivation, academic performance, and financial need. The award is for students who desire to hold a membership, attend a meeting, or conference that might need assistance to pay. Applicant must submit the Harris-Polsky-Cummings professional Development Scholarship Application available in the Interior Design Dept, which includes a brief personal statement as to why they should be selected to receive the professional development scholarship award as well as listing outside activities requested and verification of JCCC GPA with appropriate documentation. The JCCC scholarship application, and the JCCC admissions application are also required.

HTMA-MW's Warren Lillygren Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the Electronics Technology Program and committed to the HTM/Biomedical equipment program as determined by the Electronics Technology Program Chairs. Enrollment of 6 or more hours and a 3.0 GPA are required. There is no residency restriction. The JCCC Admissions application and JCCC Scholarship application are required.

Hugh Speer Debate Scholarship

Student must be an active participant on the JCCC Debate Team and have a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Humana Health Plan Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Husch Blackwell Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

IBT Mark Byrne Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to students pursuing a degree or certificate in Business, Marketing or Entrepreneurship at JCCC. Preference given to first generation college students who are residents of Kansas or Missouri. Enrollment of 6 or more hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

IDSA Design Merit Award

Award will be based on a project presented for the Space Planning Design Presentation, Residential Design Kitchen & Bath, or Commercial Design. Recipient must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicant must submit the IDSA Design Merit Award Scholarship application available in the Business Division Office along with one project from one of the previous classes accompanied by verification of JCCC GPA. The JCCC scholarship application and admissions application are required.

Industrial Technology Scholarship

Consideration is given to high school graduates and continung college students enrolled in any Industrial Technology program including: Automotive Technology, Electrical Technology, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology, Plumbing Technology and Metal Fabrication/Welding Technology. A GPA of 3.0 or higher and successful completion of 6 or more college credit hours. If funds available, can pay tuition & fees up to 15 credit hours per semester and $100 for books. The JCCC general scholarship application, the JCCC admission application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Information Systems & Technology Scholarship

Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours with a 2.0 GPA or higher in an Information Systems or Technology program. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

International and Immigrant Student Health Fund

Available to International and Immigrant students to assist with some of health care costs - Application is in the IISS office.

Internship Scholarship

Awarded to students who participate in an unpaid internship while attending JCCC. Funds will be awarded by semester in the amount of $500. Enrollment in at least 6 hours of classes at JCCC and a 2.5 GPA or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship application is also required as well as a Thank You letter to the donor.

Jack Harris Interior Design Scholarship

Awarded to a student who is a declared student within the Interior Design programs. Student should be enrolled in or have completed 15 ITMD/DRAF hours. If you meet all these criteria, during the application window you will have access to complete the Interior Design Scholarship Application.
The additional application has required elements that must be completed for further consideration by the selection committee. The application deadline is October 15. James Fennel Fine Arts Scholarship

Consideration is given to students who can demonstrate a committment to the study of Art. Applicants must demonstrate their talent and motivation through a portfolio of work within their course load and the recommendation of a faculty member. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a 2.0 GPA is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Jana Pinker Scholarship

Awarded to a JCCC Student who is a Kansas resident and member of Phi Theta Kappa member in good standing with a 3.5 GPA or higher. Students are required to participate(d) in Phi Theta Kappa service events. The JCCC scholarship application and JCCC admissions application are required.

Janet Alholm Interior Design Scholarship

Awarded to a student who is an Interior Design declared student enrolled in at least 6 hours with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to a single parent.
If you meet all these criteria, during the application window you will have access to complete the Interior Design Scholarship Application.

JCAE Advancing Newcomer Careers Scholarship

The Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) Advancing Newcomers Careers Scholarship is intended to support students who have completed one English Language class at JCAE. Students receiving this scholarship must have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). The scholarship provides tuition costs for up to 12 credit hours in the first year of study at JCCC with up to 6 credit hours each in the fall and spring semesters of enrollment.

Who’s Eligible:

Students who have completed one of the Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) English programs –ESL or English Connections within the current academic year.
Students who have completed the ESL Accuplacer test and obtained a composite score of 89 or higher.
Residents of the Kansas City Metropolitan area.

How to Apply:

Submit a JCCC Admission Application
Complete the primary JCCC scholarship application.
Schedule and complete the ESL Accuplacer test at the JCCC testing center.
Complete and submit the JCAE electronic scholarship application including responding to essay questions.
Request a letter of recommendation from their JCAE instructor.

Requirements:

Complete the ESL Accuplacer test and obtain a composite score of 89 or higher. This score is placed into Level III English for Academic Purpose classes.
Have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at JCCC.
Attend the Johnson County Adult Education GED graduation ceremony to accept the scholarship.

JCAE College Guarantee Scholarship

The Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) College Guarantee Scholarship is to support students who have completed their GED in the past 12 months through JCAE.
The scholarship funds will be disbursed to you over your first two consecutive semesters —with $300 for the first semester and $300 for the second semester. You must make satisfactory academic progress (SAP) during your first semester to receive the second-semester portion. SAP criteria include achieving a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0 with successful completion of 67% of all credit hours attempted.
The JCAE College Guarantee can be used in the fall and spring semesters. Summer term enrollments will not have the scholarship applied.

Who's Eligible:
Students who have completed their GED in the last 12 months through JCAE.
Although a FAFSA is not a requirement to receive this scholarship, you are encouraged to complete one to

Requirements: 

Enrollment at JCCC must begin within 12 months of receiving your GED through JCAE.
Complete the JCCC Scholarship Application and enroll in classes by August 1st for fall semester enrollment and January 1st for spring semester enrollment.
You must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours.
You must be working toward a degree or certificate.

The JCAE College Guarantee Scholarship is non-renewable.

JCAE Honoring Volunteers Scholarship

Every year, JCAE Volunteers spend approximately 10,000 hours in classrooms to tutor students in reading, writing, math, and English language acquisition. This scholarship recognizes and honors their valuable contributions.

The JCAE Honoring Volunteers Scholarship is intended to support students who have completed one of the Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) programs – ABE/GED, ESL or English Connections. Students receiving this scholarship must have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). The scholarship provides up to $2400 for the first year of study at JCCC with $1200 each in the fall and spring semesters for full-time enrollment. The maximum award per semester of $1200 is based on enrollment in 12 credit hours. Scholarship awards will be prorated if total enrollment is less than 12 credit hours.

Who’s Eligible:

Students who have completed one of the Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) programs – ABE/GED, ESL, or English Connections within the current academic year.
Residents of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Student must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours. Applicants must demonstrate financial need through the FAFSA. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

JCCC Academic Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors and to new or continuing JCCC students who are Kansas residents with preference given to residents of Johnson County. A cumulative grade point average of 3.5 and enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours are required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

JCCC Business Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students who are pursuing a degree in the area of Business.
Applicants must have successfully completed ECON 230 and MATH 171. Students must be enrolled in or successfully completed ECON 231 and ACCT 122. Student must be enrolled in 12 or more hours at JCCC and have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

If you meet the criteria listed above and wish to be considered for the scholarship, you must first complete the JCCC Scholarship Application. After the priority deadline, this supplemental application will appear in your scholarship portal. Complete the application and provide all documentation by the stated deadline.

The JCCC Business Scholarship application will require upload of a resume, a personal narrative (maximum 300 words) describing educational and professional goals, and one letter of recommendation from either an academic or professional contact.

JCCC Dining Services Scholarship

Awarded to a current non-probationary JCCC Dining Services employee. Student must have a 2.0 GPA or higher and majoring in any field of study. The JCCC scholarship application, and the JCCC admission application are required.

JCCC Faculty-Staff Scholarship

Awarded to students whose career and personal goals are to serve their community, and to support life-long learning through teaching, counseling, library science, educational administration, early childhood education, interpreter training, social work, psychology, or other social service/educational careers. Student must demonstrate relevant school or professional activities, community involvement, and/or leadership experience. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 are required. Tuition up to 15 hours will be covered plus $150/semester for books. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. Scholarship is renewable to previous recipients, based on continuing eligibility and application by the scholarship priority deadline. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required.

JCCC Foundation Board Leadership Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a students with an exceptional record of leadership and volunteerism.

For consideration, students must be degree seeking, enrolled full time (12 hours or more) and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Applicants must demonstrate leadership in an educational, political or professional environment as well as a volunteer involvement. Students who meet the criteria will be given the opportunity to complete a supplemental application during the application timeframe. This application will include an essay, which requests examples of how the applicant has demonstrated leadership in their life and to state their educational and professional goals. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required.

JCCC Foundation Book Scholarship

A book scholarship for students enrolled in 6 or more hours. Recipient must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or higher. Scholarship application required.

JCCC Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

JCCC Foundation Theater Scholarship

Theater scholarships are based on talent auditions or portfolio review and the student's willingness to contribute to theatrical productions. Recipient must be enrolled in 6 or more credit hours at JCCC and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. The JCCC Scholarship Application and admissions application are required.

JCCC Foundation Veterans Scholarship - Books

This scholarship is designed to assist veterans who are re-entering to the workforce or higher education after being discharged from active duty or deployment. Funding is available to veterans who have been discharged before the 1st day of classes of the semester they plan to enroll at JCCC. A 2.5 GPA or higher and enrollment in 9 or more credit hours is required. This is a Book/Supplies Scholarship Only - After the online thank you process is completed, funds are loaded to the student's JCCC ID card and can be used in the JCCC bookstore for books/supplies during that semester. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

JCCC International and Immigrant Student Services Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to JCCC International and Immigrant students who are not eligible for financial aid, have strong academic records and whose goals are to serve their community and demonstrate relevant institutional/community engagement. To eligible for this scholarship, international and immigrant students must:

have completed a minimum of one semester at JCCC
be degree seeking
be currently enrolled full-time at JCCC and
have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

This is a one-time scholarship meaning students may not reapply for the scholarship if they have received it before at JCCC.

If you meet the criteria listed above and wish to be considered for the scholarship, you must first complete the JCCC Scholarship Application. After the priority deadline, this supplemental application will appear in your scholarship portal. Complete the application and provide all documentation by the stated deadline.

As part of the application for the JCCC International and Immigrant Students Services Scholarship you will need to:

A. Prepare essay like answers for questions that relate to: (1). Your education and professional goals; (2) The reason you believe you deserve the scholarship; (3) A description of your JCCC campus and/or community involvement; (4) Your contributions and leadership experience; and (5) How JCCC has contributed to your educational and professional goals.

B. Provide the name and email of two references to whom emails will be sent asking them to provide information on how they know you and why they feel you are deserving of the scholarship. One reference must be a professor/supervisor who is willing to recommend you for this scholarship. The other reference must be the supervisor or a person who oversees your involvement experience.

C. Upload a copy of unofficial transcripts (including GPA) from all US colleges and universities attended.

Applications are accepted for the Fall semester with a July 15 deadline. A selection committee will review all applications and students will be notified via email of their decision. Scholarship is renewable after Fall, for Spring semester, if students maintain GPA of 3.0 or greater with 12 or more hours of enrollment.

JCCC Mascot Scholarship

Awarded by audition through Student Activities. Auditions are held and student is chosen to attend sporting events, JCCC events, etc. Student must be enrolled full-time to receive the scholarship. The scholarship is awarded at the end of fall semester and spring semester. JCCC Peer Advisor for Veteran Education (PAVE) Scholarship

PAVE is an opportunity to build and share resources with incoming veteran students to ease their transition into college life and help pave the way to success. This scholarship has been developed to reward the activities that will help ensure the success of this program. 1. Complete initial PAVE training within required timeframes. 2. Complete all required outreach activities. 3. Attend required number of PAVE events. The PAVE team leader will document completion metrics to ensure that PAVE advisors meet the requirements of the scholarship criteria. This scholarship will be $500 per semester each year, awarded twice in the fall semester and twice in the spring semester

JCCC Peer Advisor for Veteran Education (PAVE) Team Leader Scholarship

PAVE is an opportunity to build and share resources with incoming veteran students to ease their transition into college life and help pave the way to success. This scholarship has been developed to reward the activities that will help ensure the success of this program. The PAVE Team Leader is essential to building and sustaining the program. The PAVE Team leader needs to meet the following criteria to receive the scholarship: 1. Recruit and train. 2. Communicate with PAVE support team. 3. The PAVE team leader will document completion metrics to ensure that PAVE advisors meet the requirements of the scholarship criteria. This scholarship can be awarded fall, spring & summer terms - twice each semester and award amounts per student could vary.

JCCC Quiz Bowl Scholarship

Awarded to participants on the JCCC Quiz Bowl Team. Quiz Bowl is an academic team who competes in an interscholastic battle of the whits. During the competition, teams compete head-2-head to answer qestions from all areas, including: Science, Mathematics, History, Pop Culture, Fine Arts, and more. Eligiblity criteria includes:

JCCC Retirees Association Endowment Scholarship

Awarded to a first generation college student who has financial need, is degree seeking, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, and has a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship application, the admissions application and the FAFSA are required.

JCCC Scholarship Honoring the League of Women Voters Johnson County, Kansas

Scholarship Consideration will be given first to student(s) who is(are) a single mother(s) in good academic standing and showing financial need. This scholarship will honor The League of Women Voters Johnson County, KS of which the donor is a member. There will be no restriction as to the general course of study although STEM areas would be preferred. Enrollment of 9 or more hours and a GPA of 3.5 or higher is required. The scholarship is to be used for tuition and books. The JCCC Scholarship application and FAFSA are required.

JCCC Sunflower Grant

Awarded to first generation with consideration first to minority students. Amounts can vary from year to year. Students must be degree seeking, enrolled in at least 6 credit hours and maintain a minimum 2.0 GPA. To be further considered, students who meet the requirements above based on their answers on the JCCC scholarship application, will have an opportunity to be considered by completing the additional Sunflower Grant application within their scholarship portal during the application window.
The JCCC scholarship application is required along with the supplemental application.
This scholarship can be renewable for a second year if students apply by the April 1 priority deadline, continue attending JCCC, and meet the above criteria.

JCCC Supplemental Grant

Awarded to students with an EFC of 5001 or higher. Student must be enrolled in 6 or more hours and have a 2.0 GPA or higher. The amount may vary from year to year.

JE Dunn Construction Company Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Consideration will first be given to JCCC students working toward a construction management associate degree/certificate, or taking construction management courses that transfer on to a four-year college or university program. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Jeffrey Boyer Scholarship

Awarded to a student studying in the Music or English Department. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required and Financial Need. The JCCC Scholarship application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Jim and Eleanor Lowe Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Recipients will be selected on the basis of Financial Need. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

John Breitenstein Scholarship

Student must be degree or certificiate seeking and enrolled in 6 credit hours of either the Beverage Management, Hotel/Lodging Management, or Chef Apprenticeship programs. Student must maintain a 2.2 GPA or higher and show financial need. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

John Paul Van Goethem's Hero Scholarship

Awarded to Student Managers of an Athletic Team who have a 2.5 GPA or higher. Students must demonstrate need by completion of the FAFSA. Scholarship Application, Admission Application and FAFSA required.

John W. Johnson Scholarship

Awarded to a Kansas resident who has enrollment of at least 6 hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship Application, the Admissions Application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Johnson County Adult Education GED Honors Scholarship

The Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) Honors Scholarship is intended to support students who have completed preparation for the GED exam at JCAE and have successfully passed the GED exam at a college-ready level. Students receiving this scholarship must have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). The scholarship provides up to $2400 for the first year of study at JCCC with $1200 each in the fall and spring semesters for full-time enrollment. The maximum award per semester of $1200 is based on enrollment in 12 credit hours. Scholarship awards will be prorated if total enrollment is less than 12 credit hours.

Who’s Eligible:

Students who have completed preparation for the GED exam at Johnson County Adult Education.
Students who have passed the GED exam with an average score of 165 or higher.
Residents of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

Complete the primary JCCC scholarship application.
Complete and submit the JCAE electronic scholarship application including responding to essay questions.
Request a letter of recommendation from their JCAE instructor.

Joseph I Sopcich Memorial Veterans Book Scholarship

Awarded to provide financial assistance to JCCC student veterans for the purchase of course-required books. Enrollment of at least 6 credit hours and a 2.5 GPA is required. The Scholarship application, Admissions Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) needs completion to be considered.

Judge William S. and Maxine B. Allen Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to a students with an exceptional record of leadership and volunteerism.

Applicants pursuing a degree/certificate in the following areas will be considered: Administration of Justice Program, Education or Political Science. Recipient will be involved in two of the following areas: Extracurricular Activities / Community Service / Leadership in an Educational, Political or Professional environment / Served, or are serving in the U.S. Military or Spouse has or is serving in the U.S. Military / Student Senate Officer.

Enrollment in 12 credit hours and a GPA of 3.5 or higher is required. Students who meet the criteria will be given the opportunity to complete a supplemental application during the application timeframe. In this application, the student must submit a one-page narrative of their educational & professional goals and the reason they feel they deserve the award. Applicant will be required to provide two letters of reference - one from an academic contact and one from a professional or volunteer contact. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required. Scholarship deadline is May 15.

Julia and Alvin Ferguson Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new, and continuing JCCC students pursuing a degree in Education with financial need. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. JCCC scholarship applcation, admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Kaiser Permanente Nursing Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to the nursing program and are enrolled in the ADN program with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Kansas City Regional Association of REALTORS Scholarship

Awarded to students pursuing a course of study in Architecture, HVAC, Interior Design, Civil Engineering Technology, Appraisal, or Construction Management. Consideration is given to students who are relatives of a Realtor or a member of the Kansas City Regional Association of Realtors. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a 2.0 GPA or higher is also required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Kansas CTE Scholars Scholarship

This scholarship is available to local high school seniors who are named Kansas CTE Scholars by the State of Kansas. The JCCC Foundation works with the Olathe School District currently, and potentially other area districts in the future, to identify local students who have received this honor.

Information will be sent to the high school counselors at their school with instructions to return the information to the JCCC Foundation, stating their intent to enroll and attend JCCC the following fall after high school graduation. Students must complete the JCCC Scholarship application. JCCC Foundation will work with Financial Aid/Scholarships Office to monitor when the students have completed enrollment in order to award the scholarship funds. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours per awarded semester and a GPA of 2.5 or higher are required to be considered. Tuition will pay up to 15 credit hours along with $300/semester for books. The scholarship is renewable for a second year if the student applies by the April 1 priority deadline, continues to meet the above requirements, and stays continuously enrolled at JCCC.

This scholarship is last dollar for institutional aid and cannot pay excess to student.

Kansas Dental Hygienists' Association Scholarship

Awarded to a second year JCCC Dental Hygiene student with financial need and a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Daily evaluations and review of work will be used to demonstrate professionalism and movement towards successful completion of the program. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Kansas Gas Service Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Kansas Society of CPAs Metro Chapter Scholarship

Consideration is given to students pursuing a degree in accounting and who have successfully completed 30 hours at JCCC including 12 hours of ACCT courses. Student must be enrolled in a minimum of 10 or more credit hours at JCCC and have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

Karen and Stephen Clegg Scholarship

Scholarship is for JCCC students starting their first-year in the Dental Hygiene, AAS OR Fire Science, AAS program.
Potential candidates also include JCCC students pursuing Industrial Technology associate and certificate programs: Construction Management, Electrical Technology, Electronics Technology, HVAC, Plumbing, Automation Engineering Technology, & Welding/Metal Fabrication.
Must be a public high school graduate or recipient of GED with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours or full-time enrollment in the Dental Hygiene or Fire Science program is required. JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) required. If initial criteria met, supplemental application will appear in the student's portal during the application window and must be completed by the posted application deadline.
Scholarship may be renewable for a second year if student maintains required 2.5 GPA (3.0 GPA for Dental Hygiene) each term and continuous enrollment in program. To qualify for renewal, complete current FAFSA and JCCC Scholarship Application by April 1 priority deadline.

Karen Forsythe Scholarship

Consideration will be given first to students who attended Overland Park Elementary School for two or more years. (Address of school: 8150 Santa Fe Drive, Overland Park, Ks) and are 25 years of age or younger. Consideration will be given second to students enrolled in the JCCC Nursing program who are 30 years old or younger. Students will be Kansas residents and have financial need. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is also required. Scholarship assists with tuition only with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Katie A. Regnier Nursing Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to the Practical Nursing program at JCCC. Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher and have financial need. The JCCC scholarship application and the FAFSA(Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Kazuyo and Bob Rumbach Study Abroad Scholarship

Awarded to JCCC students who are studying Japanese. Completion of Elementary II level Japanese or higher is required before starting the study abroad program. Students must be officially accepted to the JCCC Study Abroad Program in Japan for credit for a full semester. Enrollment in 6 or more hours and a 3.0 GPA are required along with living in the KC Metro area. The application to apply for this scholarship can be found in the International Education Office, COM 220. This Scholarship is awarded only for the semester in which the student is studying abroad. A written essay stating their goals of studying in Japan as well as Japanese study background must be included. The International Education/Study Abroad office will share with the donor information of the recipient(s). After completing the Study Abroad program, recipient(s) must submit a minimum of a one page essay to the Study Abroad/International Education office stating which goals they achieved, their best experiences, how their experiences influenced their future plans or goals, etc. along with a few photos. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

KC Bizfest

KC BizFest offers high school sophomores, juniors and seniors in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan area an opportunity to learn a variety of life skills and business techniques. The majority of KC BizFest participants come from the emerging Latino Community. During a four-day intensive training period, KC BizFest focuses on helping students (a) turn hobbies and skills into profit-making ventures; (b) establish entrepreneurial and leadership goals; (c) create plans for business and life; and (d) become effective leaders and team players. Additionally, students learn the art of networking in business environments; identifying investment opportunities; implementing money management skills; and making public presentations. By attending KC BizFest, students gain entrepreneurial experience, economic literacy, improved skills in math, reading, writing and verbal communication and they gain workforce readiness. During the event, students have access to adult mentors, who help them create feasible business plans.

Eligible students who plan to attend JCCC must complete the JCCC Scholarship application for the appropriate academic year and then will have an opportunity to complete the additional BizFest application.

One of Mr. Kauffman’s visions was to ensure a postsecondary education was possible for everyone, regardless of income, age or ethnicity.
The Kauffman Foundation is committed to supporting postsecondary achievement and opportunities for low- and modest-income students. Since 1988, the Foundation has provided college scholarships and support services to 3,900 students.

The mission of KC Scholars is to increase postsecondary education attainment in the greater Kansas City area. KC Scholars will provide the means – through scholarships, financial incentives to promote college savings, and support services – for low- and modest-income students and adults needing access to pursue and complete a postsecondary credit-bearing credential or degree. By doing so, KC Scholars will improve the educational attainment, economic independence, quality of the workforce, and participation in community activities in greater Kansas City.

KC Scholars serves a six-county area of the Kansas City region: Wyandotte and Johnson Counties in Kansas and Cass, Clay, Jackson and Platte in Missouri. Ken Humm Memorial Scholarship

Recipient must be degree seeking and enrolled in 6 hours of Food and Beverage Management courses. The student must show financial need and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or better. The JCCC general scholarship application JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA are required.

Ken Walker Graphic Design Scholarship

Awarded to students with a declared Graphic Design/Communication Design major. Enrollment of at least 6 credits each semster and a cumulative GPA of 3.0 is required along with succesful completion of GDES 130 & 131. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required. Once completed, then students will be asked to complete an additional application to include a portfolio submission of work to include GDES 130 & 131 drawings for full consideration by the selection committee.

Kevin Gratton Scholarship

Scholarship created in memory of Kevin Gratton, long-time JCCC Science professor. Awarded to students who are under-served, non-traditional students (not right out of high school) taking science (general education) classes. A GPA of 2.0 or higher and enrollment of 6 or more credit hours are required, Preference is given to students with need as determined by a completed FASFA. The funds will assist with tuition, books, program needs, and childcare. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the FAFSA are required.

Kirk Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to Kansas residents pursuing an Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts degree at JCCC. Enrollment in 12 or more credit hours and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Kirk Welding Technology Scholarship

Kittie A Cook Nursing Scholarship

Preference is given first to students accepted to the JCCC ADN program and who are also employees of nonprofit nursing homes, any other nursing homes, and then to any other nursing student. Student must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and JCCC admissions application are required.

KPMG Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Krehbiel-LaRocco Family Scholarship

Degree seeking or certificate seeking individual, students eligible for renewal, preference will be given to continuing student. Awarded by semester, grade and enrollment will be checked each semester to ensure eligibility. Minimum GPA 3.0, enrolled in 5+ hours with no resident restriction. Recipients will be selected on the basis of both need and merit. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA are required.

KS Promise Act Scholarship

The Kansas Promise Scholarship was created during the 2021 Kansas Legislative Session to assist students attending Kansas community colleges, technical colleges, Washburn Institute of Technology and certain private postsecondary educational institutions and enrolled in specified programs of study, generally in the fields of (1) information technology and security, (2) mental and physical health care, (3) advanced manufacturing and building trades, or (4) early childhood education and development. Your college also has one other eligible program area. Talk with your college about other eligible areas of study that may qualify for this scholarship. This scholarship may be used toward tuition, required fees, books, and required program materials. Your educational institution will determine the amount of your Promise Scholarship award based on information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) along with other financial aid that you may be receiving. Consideration is given to students who have completed their GED through JCAE (Johnson County Adult Education) at JCCC. M. R. & Evelyn Hudson Foundation Scholarship

This scholarship, in memory of the Hudson's has been established to bring lasting fundamental change to the lives of JCCC students. The scholarship is provided to JCCC students who are residents of Johnson County or Greater Kansas City Metro Area, who are also seeking a degree or certificate to increase their marketable skills and future opportunities. Students must be a single parent or parents who are supporting minor age children or dependents. Candidates must have a legitimate need for financial assistance. M. Taylor Nursing Alumni Scholarship

Students must be accepted in the JCCC ADN nursing program and have a minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Maggie Sabato Graphic Design Scholarship

Awarded to a student within the Graphic Design program who has successfully completed 9 hours of Graphic Design (GDES) courses. Preference will be given to a single parent with dependent children. Enrollment of at least 9 hours each semester with a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required. Once completed, students will be asked to complete an additional application with a portfolio submission for full consideration by the selection committee.

Mainstreet Credit Union Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Margaret F. and Maron J. Lorimer Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted and enrolled in the ADN program with at least 6 or more hours and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Margaret Yake Math Tutor Scholarship

Student must be a current math tutor in the JCCC Math Resource Center, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship Application, the Admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Mariner Wealth Advisors Scholarship

Awarded to students pursuing a degree in Business. Enrollment in 12 or more hours each semester and a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Mark Mansfield Memorial Scholarship

Any fire/EMS student attending JCCC may apply at JCCC for funds to be used for educational purposes in connection with Fire Service or EMS education, as an enrolled student of JCCC. The student must maintain a minimum 2.5+ GPA and be enrolled in a minimum of 12 hours.

Maron Lorimer Moore Scholarship

Qualified applicants must be graduates of high schools under the jurisdiction and administration of the Olathe Kansas Board of Education and have graduated within the past four years. Recipients must have completed at least 12 credit hours at JCCC with an overall GPA of 3.0 prior to their initial application of award funds and have a current enrollment of at least 6 credit hours each semester. Mary A. Beatty Scholarship

The Mary A. Beatty Scholarship is intended to support students who have completed one of the Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) programs – ABE/GED, ESL or English Connections. Students receiving this scholarship must have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at Johnson County Community College (JCCC). The scholarship provides up to $2400 for the first year of study at JCCC with $1200 each in the fall and spring semesters for full-time enrollment. The maximum award per semester of $1200 is based on enrollment in 12 credit hours. Scholarship awards will be prorated if total enrollment is less than 12 credit hours.
Who’s Eligible:

Students who have completed one of the Johnson County Adult Education (JCAE) programs – ABE/GED, ESL, or English Connections within the current academic year.
Residents of the Kansas City metropolitan area.

How to Apply:

Submit a JCCC Admission Application.
Complete the primary JCCC scholarship application.
Complete and submit the JCAE electronic scholarship application including responding to essay questions.
Request a letter of recommendation from their JCAE instructor.

Requirements:

Complete the ESL Accuplacer test and obtain a composite score of 89 or higher. This score is placed into Level III English for Academic Purpose classes. (English Language learners only)
Have an educational goal of completing an associate degree or vocational certificate at JCCC.
Attend the Johnson County Adult Education GED graduation ceremony to accept the scholarship.
Enroll at JCCC in the fall semester following the graduation ceremony.
Enroll in a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester beginning with the fall semester following graduation.
Complete the thank you letter process once the scholarship is awarded. An email notification will be sent with instructions on how to complete it.
Ensure all requested information is submitted to receive full consideration.

Mary Margaret "Megan" Gladbach Memorial Scholarship

To support students who have demonstrated commitment to the values of Megan: working towards a more just, equitable, and environmentally sustainable neighborhood, region and world.

Individuals with leadership potential and a passion for sustainability wanting to work for change in the world.

This is demonstrated through a commitment to community development through volunteering, sustainability-related internships or service learning, or leadership, as described in your personal statement and recommendation for a teacher or mentor.

Supplemental application is required and will be available during open application period in the JCCC Scholarship Portal. Eligible candidates must have at least 12 credit hours of study completed at JCCC. A personal statement describing your commitment to developing more sustainable communities and how this scholarship will help you to achieve your goals. A letter from a teacher or mentor further illustrating your work towards a more sustainable future. The JCCC Scholarship application, and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required. Recipients will be selected on the basis of Financial Need and Merit.

Mazuma Credit Union Scholarship

The criteria for the scholarship is general focused - in selecting one student each year, JCCC Financial Aid will consider all JCCC students with high need. Minimum GPA 2.5+, Minimum number of hours enrolled 12+, no residency restriction, based on both Need and Merit. The JCCC application and Federal Application for Financial Student Aid (FASFA) are both required.

McCown Family Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to first generation college students or single parents. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship Application and the Admissions Application are required.

McCownGordon Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Melissa Wells Counseling Center Hardship Grant

Awarded by the JCCC Academic Advising/Counseling staff. A GPA of 2.0 or higher is required after 12 hours of coursework have been completed. Involvement in the community or school will be considered a plus but is not required. A letter of recommendation from a counselor or faculty member and a narrative of personal educational and professional goals not to exceed 300 words are also required. All information must be included at the time of submission to the academic counseling office. The FAFSA, the JCCC Scholarship application, and the Admissions application are required.

Menorah Medical Center Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted and are enrolled in the ADN program in at least 6 or more hours and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissons application are required.

Merriam Community Association Scholarship

Awarded to a resident of Merriam Kansas, enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Merriam Music Study Club Scholarship

Student must be an instrumental or vocal music student. Must have a 2.0 GPA. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Mick McWilliams Scholarship

Awarded to students who will be pursuing a degree in the engineering field and have successfully completed two semesters of college (24 or more credit hours). A Kansas resident, with a GPA of 2.5 or higher is also required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Midwest Trust Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Miss Johnson County Scholarship

Awarded to the winner of the Miss Johnson County pageant. Award is available for up to 64 continous credit hours.

Model UN Team Scholarship

Participation in the Model UN Team or related activities required. Students will complete both the current year JCCC scholarship application and Model UN Team Scholarship application, where they will provide a brief narrative (300 words or less double-spaced and typed) stating their professional and personal goals, including the reason they need the scholarship and why they are interested in participating on the Model UN Team or related activities. Students will be degree seeking with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Award will cover tuition, books and/or program needs.

National Board of Respiratory Care Scholarship

Awarded to a second year student in the Respiratory Care program. Enrollment in at least 12 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher are required. The JCCC Scholarship application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Ned Neustrom Paramedic Scholarship

Applicant must be accepted in the JCCC Mobile Intensive Care Technician (Paramedic) program successfully completed MICT I and be enrolled in MICT II. Scholarship is awarded for MICT III. Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 or more credit hours at JCCC and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The JCCC general scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, and the FAFSA are required.

Nell Mitchell Scholarship

Awarded to degree seeking students attending JCCC or students who plan to transfer to earn one of the following degree or transfer programs:

Students will live in the Kansas City Metro area. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours is required, 4 or more of the hours must be in an HPER class (any combination of 1-3 credit hour HPER classes to reach the 4 minimum hours will qualify). The scholarship will pay up to 15 hours of credit classes and $300 for books. The JCCC Scholarship application must be completed and if students meet all the requirements listed above, the additional application will appear in their scholarship portal for completion during the application period. Submission of this application includes an essay of personal and educational goals within one of the above fields of study. Scholarship is awarded on a semesterly basis starting in Fall. Recipient eligibility is reviewed at end of Fall for Spring continuation consideration.

Nita and Dick Silverstein Scholarship

Must be a degree or certificate seeking accounting student enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, including an accounting course. Cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher (if returning student, minimum GPA can be from last five years), with a minimum of 3.0 in accounting courses at JCCC. JCCC General scholarship application and JCCC admissions application are required.

Norman & Elaine Polsky Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

NUCA-KC Workforce Development Scholarship

Awarded to a KC Metro student enrolled in his or her third semester of any Industrial Technology program at JCCC. A GPA of 3.0 or higher and enrollment in 6 or more credit hours is required. The JCCC scholarship application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Nursing Scholarship

Consideration is given to students in the ADN program in good academic standing. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Officer Donald B. Gamblin, Jr. Law Enforcement Scholarship

Awarded to a Johnson County resident enrolled in the Criminal Justice program and seeking a career in law enforcement. Student should be degree seeking, enrolled in 12 or more credits, and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher. Student will be working a part-time job while attending the Criminal Justice program at JCCC. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admission application, the 2022 Officer Donald B. Gamblin, Jr. Law Enforcement Scholarship nomination form and the FAFSA are required.

Olathe Health System Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been admitted to the Practical Nursing program and demonstrate financial need. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application. the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Orville Walters Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student enrolled in the Criminal Justice program with at least 9 Criminal Justice credit hours completed and a GPA of 2.5 or higher. JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Out of State / International Campus Involvement Award

The applicant must demonstrate exceptional campus involvement in their respective club(s) or organization(s). Must be a JCCC credit student assessed out-of-state/ international student tuition rate. Current members of Student Senate are INELIGIBLE. Must submit a 2 to 3 double-spaced essay describing campus involvement with examples and why they should receive the award. Student must submit one letter of recommendation from an advisor or member of a student organization in which the applicant is involved. Must submit a completed student organization membership verification form from each organization in which the student participates. Also must submit the Out-of-State/ International Involvement Award Application. Recipient must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0 or better. Student may only receive the award once.

Outstanding Student Award

This award is available to full-time and part-time credit students. Nominations can come from faculty, staff, and students. The criteria for the award includes campus involvement, community involvement, volunteerism, personal and/or extenuating circumstances overcome, and scholastic achievement. Up to 10 awards are given in the SPRING semester and students are eligible to receive the award only once. Application forms are available at the Student Life office (COM 309). The JCCC Scholarship Application and the JCCC Admissions Application are required.

Overland Park Convention Center Scholarship

Student must be degree seeking and enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in Hospitality Management courses. Student must be a Kansas resident and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.2 or better is required. If a student meets academic progress the award can be for up to three years. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA are required.
This scholarship is also awarded to winners of culinary competitions at JCCC.

Overland Park Regional Medical Center Scholarship - EMS

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Emergency Medical Sciences-MICT, who show federal financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. Overland Park Regional Medical Center Scholarship - Neurodiagnostic Technology

Awarded to students who are accepted and/or enrolled in Neurodiagnostic Technology, who show financial need and meet the eligibility criteria established by this program of study. Enrollment in at lesat 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher at JCCC is required. Award is used at department's discretion for students facing a personal hardship during their program of study. Patrick Keating Scholarship

Paul Provas Memorial Baseball Scholarship

Awarded to a student on the JCCC Baseball team with a 2.0 GPA enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours.

Consideration when awarding is first given to students enrolled in the Electronics Technology program who are recent high school graduates or previously enrolled college students. Phi Delta Kappa Scholarship

Awarded to adult students who are returning to school and are Kansas residents. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours with a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Phi Theta Kappa Alumni Scholarship

Awarded to a Phi Theta Kappa Member and/or Honor's Program Student with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. This will come as a recommendation by the Director of the Honor's Program.

Phi Theta Kappa/Honors Program Book Scholarship

Awarded to continuing students who are active in the JCCC Honors Program and/or Phi Theta Kappa for use with books/supplies purchased at the JCCC bookstore. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 3.5 or higher is required. This scholarship is not renewable. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required. Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Philosophy Scholarship

Awarded in the spring after applicant successfully completes at least one JCCC Philosophy course with a minimum grade of a B. A committee will review the applicants and select the recipient(s). An additional application with a minimum of 300 words and an unofficial transcript will be attached. Awards will be based upon academic achievement and philosophical promise.

Minimum GPA 3.5+, enrolled in 6 hours, no restriction of residency and based on Merit. Student must fill out JCCC application, FAFSA, and additional application.

Polsinelli PC Scholarship

Professor Brad Redburn Scholarship

Preference is given to a first-time college student in the family, single parent and/or GED graduate. They must maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher, be a US Citizen and must qualify for federal financial aid.. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA are required.

Professor Ginny Radom Practical Nursing Scholarship

The scholarship is in honor of Professor Ginny Radom's contributions and dedication to students in Johnson County Community College's Practical Nursing Program. The scholarship is designed to assist first-time incoming practical nursing students, who have been accepted into the Practical Nursing program. Preference is given to students with need as determined by a completed FASFA. The funds will assist with program needs, books, and tuition as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Robert and Kathryn Sindt Family Scholarship

The Robert and Kathryn Sindt Family Scholarship supports students pursing a college degree in the area of game development and computer science. It is awarded to JCCC students enrolled in 12 or more credit hours and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. There are no residency restrictions and the award is based on financial need. The scholarship will be awarded for tuition and books only with no excess to the student. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Robert J. Helmer Award for Excellence in Journalism and Media Communications

Awarded to students in Journalism and Media Communication who have completed or are currently enrolled in at least two Journalism classes. Preference will be given to applicants who have completed more Journalism courses or have worked in the JCCC Student News Center. The applicant must have a minimum "B" grade in Journalism courses and an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher. This scholarship is merit-based so the FAFSA is not required, but the JCCC Scholarship Application is. The application deadline is April 15. Funds will be awarded in the spring to use for the fall semester. The honorees may be invited to an event with the scholarship donors, JCCC Foundation officers and the JCCC Journalism faculty. All information below must be completed and submitted to be fully considered.

Submit a letter of introduction describing your reasons for applying for this scholarship, the reasons you believe you deserve this scholarship, and the benefits the scholarship will provide to you.
Applicants must also include a paragraph explaining why they are considering a major in public relations, advertising, news, videography, photojournalism, podcasting, or other area of media.
List the journalism/media communication classes you have already completed and the name of your professors.
Include a copy of your current transcript. This may be an unofficial transcript.
Complete all of the above, plus provide your student ID, phone number, and all mailing addresses (current and permanent) information.

Robin Almsberger Scholarship

Awarded to a first-year dental hygiene student at JCCC who shows financial need. Consideration will be given first to a non-traditional student with children, prior dental assisting experience, who is a member of SADHA, and has community service involvement. A minimum GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. At the end of the fall semester, the recipient is chosen and receives the first award in spring. If the student remains in good standing, an additional award will be made in the fall of their second year. Daily evaluations and review of work will be used to demonstrate professionalism and movement towards successful completion of the program. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Roger C. and Ruth L. Ward Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors and to new or continuing JCCC students with enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher. Consideration is given first to students with hearing challenges. Ronald D. Deffenbaugh Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to students residing in the Kansas City Metropolitan area who are seeking a degree in Industrial Technology. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Recipients will be selected on both merit and need so the JCCC scholarship application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Rose Family Scholarship

This departmental scholarship is available to any student currently enrolled in a minimum of one departmental Journalism course during the semester for which it will be awarded (internships are not included). The applicant must have a minimum “B” grade in the department’s course(s) on the day the scholarship is granted and complete the course with a minimum “B” final grade. Overall GPA for the semester must be a 2.0. Grades will be verified by the student’s professor(s). The scholarship is merit-based. It is not based upon financial need.

Complete the current academic year JCCC general scholarship application on line.
Submit All requested materials below by the deadline dates.
If chosen, applicants will then interview with the Journalism and Media Communications Department Chair and one additional full-time department professor.

Deadline Dates:

November 15 for a fall semester scholarship (awarded in early December)
April 15 for a spring semester scholarship (awarded in early May)

Submit a letter of introduction describing your reasons for applying for the scholarship, the reasons you believe you deserve the scholarship, and the benefits the scholarship will provide to you. Also, describe how you became interested in the journalism/media communication field, your plans after you leave JCCC, after you finish your education, and your employment goals for the future.
List the journalism/media communication classes you have already completed and the name of your professors.
Include a letter of recommendation from a current journalism professor for which you have class. You may also include additional letters from current journalism professors if you are enrolled in more than one Journalism Department course.
Include a copy of your current transcript. This may be an unofficial transcript.
Complete all of the above, providing all requested information for full consideration, AND include your student ID, phone numbers and all mailing addresses (current and permanent).

Ruben & Pat Mendelsohn Nursing Scholarship

Preference is given to employees of Menorah or Saint Joseph's Medical Centers who are upgrading their skills and have been accepted and are enrolled in the ADN nursing program at JCCC. A 2.0 GPA or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, and the JCCC admission application are required.

S A Architecture Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students enrolled in the JCCC Architecture Program and awarded for talent and promise in the study of architecture. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and enrollment in a minimum of 6 credit hours at JCCC is required. Students must be degree seeking and have their high school diploma/transcript or GED on file with Admissions. The Architectural Talent Scholarship Application and a letter of recommendation from a JCCC architecture professor are required to receive this award. Students may apply each semester they are enrolled in the JCCC Architecture Program. The JCCC Scholarship Application and JCCC Admissions Application are also required.

S A Art Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in a program at JCCC that leads to an Associate's degree or certificate or a transfer program that leads to a bachelor's degree at another institution. Recipient must take at least one Fine Art or Photography class in the semester following receipt of the award. Applicants must submit 5 pieces of their own original artwork for evaluation and review. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a 2.0 GPA is required. Student must have completed less than 64 credit hours at JCCC and must maintain satisfactory academic progress according to JCCC Financial Aid policy. Awards are given by Chair of the Department of Fine Arts, Photo & Film. The JCCC scholarship application and admissions application are required.

S A Dance Team Scholarship

Awarded to students who are selected for the JCCC Dance Team. Tryouts for the dance team are held in the spring and students complete an audition application to be considered. Recipients must be available for practice Monday through Friday and must participate at all home men's and women's basketball games as well as other sports events if asked. Students must be fully admitted to JCCC, enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Scholarship recommendations are provided by the Dance Team Coach and awards are made at the end of each semester in which the students participate.

S A Debate Scholarship

Scholarships are available to students who are seeking to participate in competitive debate at the college level. Students must be enrolled in the debate class, enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours and have a 2.5 or higher GPA. They must also be an active participant in the intercollegiate debate program and available to travel some weekends. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

This Scholarship is awarded based on recommendations from the Journalism department.

S A Music Scholarship

Awarded to students (majors and non-majors full-time and part-time) with a musical talent. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 is required. Instrumental and vocal music scholarships are based upon an audition and enrollment in a selected program of study as established with a faculty adviser. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

S A Photography Scholarship

Awarded to a students enrolled in a program that leads to an Associate's degree or certificate or a transfer program that leads to a bachelor's degree at another institution. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. Recipient must take at least one Photography or Art class in the semester following receipt of the award. Student must have completed less than 64 credit hours at JCCC and must maintain satisfactory academic progress according to JCCC Financial Aid policy. S A Theater Scholarship

Theater scholarships are based on talent auditions or portfolio reviews and a student's willingness to contribute to theatrical productions. All student's (major or non-major, full-time or part-time) with acting or technical talent are invited to apply. A cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is required and enrollment in 6 or more credit hours. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

SA Veterans Book Scholarship

This Book Scholarship is designed to pay for books only and assist veterans who are re-entering the workforce or higher education after being discharged from active duty or deployment. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours at JCCC is required. Awards are made through the Veterans Office and funds are loaded onto the student's JCCC ID card for use only in the JCCC bookstore with no excess funds to the student. The JCCC scholarship application is required.

SA Veterans Scholarship

This scholarship is designed to assist veterans who are re-entering the workforce or higher education after being discharged from active duty or deployment. The scholarship will be applied to tuition and book costs only. Any remaining funds available after paying tuition will be loaded onto the student's JCCC ID card for use with books/supplies in the JCCC bookstore with no excess cash to student. Awards are made through the Veterans office. The JCCC scholarship application is required.

Saint Joseph Health Center Nursing Scholarship

Awarded to students accepted and enrolled in the ADN nursing program who demonstrate financial need. A 2.0 or higher in nursing courses with satisfactory performance clinically is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Saint Lukes Health System Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part-time students who have been accepted into and are enrolled in the ADN nursing program. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Sara Anne Davis Scholarship

Recipient must be enrolled in pre-medicine or pre-veterinarian courses. Student must be a second-year full-time student who has demonstrated solid achievements in academic pursuits and contributions to community activities as well as extra-curricular activities. Must be a Kansas resident. A minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0 and enrollment in 12 or more credit hours is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admission application are required.

Second Year Presidents Scholarship

Continuing First Year President's scholarship recipients are eligible for this second year scholarship award. Enrollment of at least 12 credit hours and a continuing GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Students must complete and submit the JCCC Scholarship Application by April 1 to be considered for the second year funding. The scholarship pays for only 12 hours each semester with no excess funds to the student. A book scholarship is also available, currently at $300 per semester. Note: This scholarship is only available to the second year recipients if they are returning students and received the Presidents scholarship in their first year.

Sindt-Leabo Memorial Scholarship

Consideration is given to full-time and part time students who have been accepted into program and are enrolled in the ADN nursing program. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Soroptomists Breyfogle Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Spencer Duncan Make It Count with Books Scholarship

Student must be a United States military veteran, demonstrate need, and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher. This is a Book/Supplies Scholarship Only - After the online thank you process is completed, funds are loaded onto the student's JCCC ID card for use in the JCCC bookstore for books and supplies during that semester. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Sprint Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

STEM Grant Scholarship

JCCC STEM scholarships are awarded to students who want to pursue a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math and intend to transfer to a four-year institution. Students selected for the scholarship, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation, could receive up to $10,000 per year for up to two years at JCCC, and become part of the JCCC STEM Scholars program, provided they meet all of the following criteria:

1. Demonstrate financial need, as defined for undergraduate students by the US Department of Education's FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid).
2. Are citizens of the US, Nationals of the US, Aliens admitted as refugees, or Aliens lawfully admitted to the US as permanent residents.
3. Intend to enroll full-time (12 hours or more each semester) for at least one year in an Associate of Science degree program at JCCC.
4. Demonstrate academic ability or potential (shown by placement into Math 171: College Algebra or higher; placement into no more than one remedial reading or writing course; and have a GPA of 2.0 or above in previous high school and/or college coursework).

Once the JCCC Scholarship Application is completed, eligible students are asked to go back into the scholarship portal to complete the STEM Application during the application window. This additional application requires submission of all essays for full consideration. Note: The essays will weigh heavily in the decision made by the selection committee. The JCCC Admissions Application, the JCCC Scholarship Application, and the FAFSA are required.

Continued eligibility for the subsequent semester requires 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment (12 or more hours).

STEM Poster Symposium Scholarship

Awarded to Presenters at the Annual Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Poster Symposium held each Spring by the Math and Science Department's faculty members.

Stinson LLP Scholarship

Awarded to a student who has been accepted into the JCCC Paralegal Program through the Selective Admissions Process with a 3.5 GPA or above for all completed paralegal courses. Completion of 12 or more credit hours of paralegal classes when scholarship is awarded is required. The JCCC scholarship application, FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Student Activities Graphic Design Scholarship

Awarded to students in the Graphic Design program. GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required. Once completed students can then complete the additional application with portfolio submission for full consideration by the selection committee.

Student Center Scholarship

This competitive scholarship is awarded for up to one year to students enrolled at least half time. Consideration is given to students who have a minimum JCCC GPA of 2.5 or higher and are enrolled in 6 or more credit hours in a degree-seeking program. To be further considered students will receive an email to complete an additional applicaiton, which includes submitting a written statement describing career goals and community involvement. A selection committee will review and determine the recipients. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Student Senate Leadership Scholarship

Consideration is given to students who are elected to the JCCC Student Senate Executive Board. The Executive Board is comprised of these five positions: President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Parlimentarian. The Student Senate Executive Board is elected during the Spring Semester (March/April). Executive Board members are required to:

Maintain full-time enrollment (12 or more hours)
Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
Commit to 10 hours per week of Student Senate work.

If all requirements are met, the amount awarded is 12 credit hours of tuition. The JCCC Scholarship Application and Admissions application are required.

Study Abroad Scholarship

Awarded to students who are officially accepted to study for credit in one of the JCCC Study Abroad programs. Scholarship is awarded only for the semester in which the student is studying abroad. Scholarship is not provided for any on-campus study. Students must submit a written application which can be found in the International Studies office. Preference is given to students who demonstrate financial need through the application process. A GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required.

Sunflower Chapter Foundation Scholarship - Book Scholarship

Awarded to a student that is a prior armed forces member (veteran), spouse of a veteran or dependent of a veteran. The student must be a Johnson County resident and enrolled in 12 or more credit hours at JCCC with a 2.0 GPA or higher. This is a Book/Supplies Scholarship Only - After the online thank you letter process is completed, funds are loaded onto the student's JCCC ID card for use in the JCCC bookstore for books and supplies during that semester. The JCCC scholarship application, and JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Sustainable Agriculture Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in the Sustainable Agriculture program as well as coursework at JCCC. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.25 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application and the JCCC admissions application are required by August 1.

Suzanne Henkle Tribute Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Swiss Re (Formerly Employers Reinsurance Corporation)

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Tantillo First-Generation Student Scholarship

Named in honor of Charles R. and Carol C. Tantillo, this scholarship is awarded to a first-generation college student that is seeking a postsecondary education. The recipient, a Kansas resident, attending immediately after graduating from high school, must be degree seeking, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours, and have a high school GPA of 3.0 or higher. Any returning JCCC student must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship Application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Technology Diversity Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to degree or certificate seeking students enrolled in any of the Computer Science Information Technology (CSIT) programs. Enrollment in 6 or more credit hours with a 3.0 GPA or higher is required.
Students who meet the criteria will be given the opportunity to complete a supplemental application during the application timeframe. A selection committee will review all information after the due date and select the recipients. The JCCC Scholarship Application is required.

Terry Helmick Memorial Scholarship

Awarded to a student that is currently enrolled in or has successfully completed a course in Communications (SPD or COMS) at JCCC and enrolled to study abroad through JCCC. The student must complete a written application, which can be found in the International Education/Study Abroad office. A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. The JCCC scholarship application, the JCCC admissions application, and the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

The Bickimer Family Scholarship

Awarded to first or second generation college students or students who graduated from high school a minimum of 6 years ago or students who have completed a GED at Johnson County Community College. Enrollment in 9 credit hours per semester and a 3.0 GPA are required. Can be renewable for a 2nd year if student continues to meet above criteria and complete JCCC Scholarship Application by April 1 priority deadline.

The Joseph and Stacy Sopcich Scholarship

Consideration will be given to students enrolled in JCCC's Career and Technical Education classes, with a preference for those students who expressed the desire to graduate or receive a certificate. Enrollment in at least 6 credit hours and a GPA of 2.0 or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship application, FAFSA, and JCCC admissions application are required.

The Kansas City Home Builders Association Scholarship

Awarded to students enrolled in a JCCC construction-related program resulting in an associate's degree or certification. Enrollment of at least 9 hours or more and a GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. Prior to graduation, Recipients agree to contact the KC Home Builders Association about potential employment opportunities offered by their members.

TPP Certified Public Accountants Scholarship

Recipient must be a degree-seeking student in accounting who has completed at least 15 credit hours with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher. Must have enrollment of 12 or more hours. JCCC general scholarship application the JCCC admission application and the FAFSA are required. Preference is given to applicants who are non- traditional students and to those who re-apply each academic year if they remain in good standing.

Turner Construction Scholarship

Consideration will first be given to JCCC students working toward a Construction Management associate degree/certificate, or taking construction management courses that transfer on to a four-year college or university program. Graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher are eligible. Recipients will be selected on the basis of both need and merit. The JCCC scholarship application, and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Tyler Charles Standridge Scholarship

Awarded to a 2nd year student (with a minimum of 24 hours completed) enrolled in the Automotive Technology program. Enrollment of 6 or more credit hours and a GPA of 2.5 or higher is required. U.S. Engineering Scholarship

Udall Undergraduate Scholarship

The Udall Foundation awards scholarships to college sophomores and juniors for leadership, public service, and commitment to issues related to Nation American nations or to the Environment/Sustainability.

Vernon E. Hochscheid Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.

Veteran Center Hardship Grant

Military Veterans with current enrollment at least 6 credit hours, a JCCC GPA of 2.0 of higher after 12 hours of study have been completed is required. The JCCC Scholarship application, admissions application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required. A letter of recommendation from a counselor, staff member, or faculty member, and a narrative of personal, educational, and professional goals not to exceed 300 words is also required. All information must be included at the time of submission to the Academic Counseling Office.

Veteran Center Peer Mentor Grant

Awarded by the JCCC Veterans Services staff to JCCC Veteran students who serve as peer mentors for the JCCC Veteran students new to campus, through the PAVE (Peer Advisor for Veterans Education) program. Enrollment of at least 6 hours and a 2.0 GPA or higher is required. The JCCC Scholarship application, admissions application and FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) are required.

Veteran Services Outreach Activity Scholarship

This scholarship is for outreach activities performed by Veteran Services Student Interns. This scholarship has been established to encourage professional developement and to reward activities that will increase veteran and military-affiliated student engagement on campus. Scholarship recipients must meet the following metrics: participation in one on-campus leadership opportunity per semester; perform weekly outreach communication activities as assigned; participate in Veteran Services-sponsored outreach events. This scholarship is awarded upon successful completion of the semester awarded, as well as required metrics.

Victor & Caroline Schutte Foundation Scholarship

Awarded to students who are Missouri residents, enrolled in 6 or more credit hours with a GPA of 2.0 or higher. The scholarship pays towards tuition only with no excess cash to the student. Virgina Krebs Scholarship

Willa Lagomarcino Memorial Scholarship

Consideration when awarding will be given first to a student who is at least 40 years old, accepted and enrolled in the ADN Nursing program. Secondary consideration will be to any nursing student. Winifred Fulk Memorial Scholarship

Consideration is given to students seeking a degree in Math and/or Math education, currently enrolled in a JCCC math course, then successfully complete that course and enroll in another math course in the subsequent semester. The average of GPA grades in Math should be 3.0 or higher. The JCCC Scholarship Application, and the FAFSA are required.

Zurich Direct Underwriters Scholarship

Awarded to graduating high school seniors, new or continuing JCCC students who are enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and have a GPA of 2.5 or higher. The JCCC scholarship application, JCCC admission application and the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) are required.
