Examples of wicked problems include climate change, unemployment, lack of clean water or healthy food, poverty, war, biodiversity loss, social inequality, pollution, and more. There are three pillars of sustainability: environmental health, social equity, and economic prosperity.
The
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), created by the United Nations and launched on January 1st, 2016, provides a global framework for what sustainability entails. Back in 2016, all 191 member states of the United Nations, including the US, agreed to advance these SDGs. The original goal was to achieve the SDGs by the year 2030.
